Westport whiskey and craft cocktail bar Julep will be closing.

Husband and wife Beau Williams and Keely Edgington opened Julep at 4141 Pennsylvania Ave., Suite 104, in 2014.

They posted the closing on Julep’s Facebook page Monday afternoon: “After 9 long and incredibly fun years, we’ve decided it’s time to set sail for new adventures. Julep’s last day will be Derby Day, Saturday May 6. … We thank you KC for a great run and perhaps we’ll be back one day.”

They couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.

Fans left such comments as:

Thank you for the memories! My husband and I moved here from DC in 2014 and Julep became a favorite right away! You all will be missed!!

We love you guys and will support every venture on the horizon

Thanks for getting us started on our bourbon adventures — Julep was the catalyst

The menu includes traditional juleps, old fashioned and seasonal drinks such as the Truman (with rye, amaro, dry curaçao and cherry liqueur) and small plates such as meatballs, chicken satay and lobster agnolotti. Food & Wine honored it as one of the best bars in Kansas City in 2016.
