Meshuggah Bagels is relocating its Northland shop after four years.

It recently closed at 205 S. Stewart Road in Liberty when its lease expired and will reopen in the Valley View Shoppes, a new center at the northeast corner of Missouri 152 and Booth Avenue, in fall or winter. The new shop will be next to Andy’s Frozen Custard, along with a new Whataburger, QuikTrip, Fareway Meat Market, nail salon and coffee shop planned for the center.

It will have a dining room and Meshuggah’s first drive-thru. The owners said the new location will also offer better access, visibility and parking.

“We’re kind of a grab-and-go place. People don’t want to spend 10 minutes to park,” said Janna Linde, co-owner and founder with her husband, Peter. The couple live in the area. “This is the closest location we’ve ever had to home. We’re really excited. It’s going to be a great new spot for us.”

Meshuggah, which means crazy or foolish in Yiddush, opened a wholesale bakery in Pleasant Valley in fall 2015, selling its products through Dean & DeLuca, Shatto Home Delivery, at area restaurants and other outlets.

It offers a variety of bagels including poppy seed, onion, garlic, rye, whole wheat, cinnamon raisin and chocolate chip.

It opened its first retail shop at 1208 W. 39th St. in 2016 and now has locations in the Power & Light District and Overland Park. Its bagels also are sold in the Roasterie Cafes.
