Coffee chain plans third Kansas City area shop serving mocha, shakes, pastries, more
Oregon-based Dutch Bros Coffee, a chain with more than 500 locations in 11 states, is continuing its Midwest expansion with a new location planned for the Legends Outlets Kansas City.
It is taking the former Sheridan’s Frozen Custard spot, a freestanding building at 1800 Prairie Crossing, Kansas City, Kansas. It hopes to open by the end of the year. It will be the chain’s first location in Kansas.
Legends Outlets said Sheridan’s closed in August.
Dutch Bros Coffee also previously confirmed plans to open its first Missouri location at 1733 E. North Ave. in Belton (also the site of a former Sheridan’s), in early to mid-2022.
A location at 11311 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Shawnee is scheduled for a spring opening.
Dutch Bros Coffee offers coffee drinks including mocha, cold brews and its Dutch Freeze (a blended espresso), along with its Dutch Frost shakes (in a variety of flavors including cotton candy, crème de menthe and white chocolate, banana cream pie, banana split and German chocolate).
It also has Dutch Soda (flavor-infused sparkling water) in such flavors as watermelon, lime and blue raspberry, and bubble gum. Other menu items include its Rebel energy drinks, teas, smoothies, lemonades, pastries and granola bars.
