A sneak peek inside Kansas City’s new rooftop cocktail lounge overlooking the Plaza
A scene like you’ve never seen.
That’s a promise by the new Prime Social Rooftop — a cocktail lounge on a hilltop overlooking the Country Club Plaza.
A sneak peek earlier this month delivered sweeping views from the 16th floor of the 46 Penn Centre building — as far as downtown to the north, Arrowhead Stadium to the east, and is that a Johnson County water tower to the south?
Prime Social Rooftop plans to open Tuesday at 4622 Pennsylvania Ave.
Menu items will include sushi (such as the KC roll with roasted pork belly, kimchee, lettuce, sweet pickle and chili sauce), lobster tails, ginger chicken meatballs with a spicy garlic hoisin sauce, pork belly burnt ends with a smoked chili rub, pizza, sliders, a 16-ounce KC strip, and desserts such as carrot cake and warm chocolate chip cookies.
Cocktails will include a peach mule, a smoked Old-Fashioned and The Ma’homes with bourbon, pomegranate, fresh lemon and champagne (after Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes).
Hours: 4 p.m. to midnight Tuesdays through Thursdays; 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays; and 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays.
Its sister restaurant, Ocean Prime, plans an early 2022 opening on the third floor. The full-service modern American restaurant specializes in seafood and steaks.
Ohio-based Cameron Mitchell Restaurants was founded in 1993 and currently has 40 restaurants under 18 different concepts, including 17 Ocean Prime locations in 13 states and the District of Columbia.
