Kansas City-area Twin Peaks restaurant and bar shut down for 10 days. Here’s why
Customers say they were told that the Independence Twin Peaks restaurant and bar temporarily shut down for several days for remodeling.
But it also had an issue with its liquor license.
On Sept. 16, the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control cited KC Lodge Ventures II LLC, doing business as Twin Peaks. It imposed a $200 fine for “unlawful sale or supply to minor,” and a 10-day suspension for “unlawful sale or supply to intoxicated person.”
While the restaurant, at 19821 E. Jackson Drive, could have remained open during the suspension, it would not have been allowed to sell alcohol.
The area franchisees declined to comment.
A post on its Facebook page on Sept. 24 said: “This Sunday: We’re so excited to be reopening our doors just in time for The Kansas City Chiefs football. … We’ll be featuring specials on two of our favorites — Bud Light and Busch Light and enjoying our new restaurant together.”
The chain is known for its 29-degree draft beers and made-from-scratch comfort foods, along with its “Twin Peaks Girls.” The Independence location opened in 2014. There also is an Olathe location and another is planned for the Northland.
