This week we asked readers: What new Kansas City area restaurant are you most looking forward to?

The odds in this poll might have seemed to be in Whataburger’s favor.

Kansas City is one of the first markets for the chain’s latest expansion outside of its native Texas. And Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his group plan 30 for the region, adding to the hype.

It came in second.

No. 1? Prime Social, an enclosed rooftop lounge scheduled to open by late November at 4622 Pennsylvania Ave. in the 46 Penn Centre building, on a hill overlooking the Country Club Plaza. Prime Social will have cocktails and shareable items including pizzas, dips and hand-rolled sushi.

Then, in early 2022, Ocean Prime Restaurant will join it on the third floor of the building, serving such menu items as lobster bisque and Alaskan King crab legs.

You can still weigh in on the poll (which is, admittedly, unscientific). Click here to vote.
