Kansas City burger joint at Crossroads food hall closes as it plans multiple locations
James Beard Award nominee Michael Corvino has shut down his Ravenous kitchen in Parlor food hall.
Ravenous previously operated for lunch only out of Corvino Supper Club & Tasting Room in the Crossroads. Corvino moved it to the food hall at 1707 Locust St. in September. It closed in mid-July.
It featured a diner-style burger with a chef upgrade — two cheeseburger smash patties seared on a griddle, topped with sour pickles, charred onions, an aioli made with grated garlic and lemon, and a slice of Muenster cheese on a house-made bun.
Other menu items included tater tots, malts and fried hand pies.
Corvino said the food hall was always just going to be a temporary location for Ravenous.
“We’re sad. We wanted people to have that fix,” Corvino said.
He’s now “considering and working on multiple locations” in the metro but did not provide a timeline or specific areas of the city he is targeting.
Corvino Supper Club is now open daily and customers can order the cheeseburger when dining in or to-go.
