Discount grocery store chain putting up 20,000-square-foot building at Legends Outlets

Aldi, a growing discount grocery store chain, is coming to the Legends Outlets Kansas City.

It plans an early 2021 opening for a new 20,000-square-foot store near the corner of North 110th Street and Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas.

Aldi sells common grocery and household items, mostly under its own brands.

It opened its 2,000th store in July and it is now in 36 states. It plans to have 70 more stores open by the end of the year, and said it is on track to become the third-largest grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022.

During the pandemic, it has accelerated the rollout of its curbside grocery pickup service, and it is now offered in more than 600 locations.

Legends Outlets also will welcome La Fuente Mexican Street Food and a Tory Burch outlet store this fall.
