Westport’s new breakfast and lunch spot serves cinnamon roll pancakes, brunch burgers
Locally-owned breakfast and lunch chain The Big Biscuit is now in Westport.
It took the former Fusion Buffet Sushi & Hibachi space at 4039 Mill St. The first 25 customers in for the soft opening Sept. 10 will receive a free Big Biscuit coffee mug. The grand opening is Sunday.
The Big Biscuit also plans to open a restaurant in Lenexa’s Sonoma Plaza in February or March of 2021.
The entire breakfast and lunch menu is served all day, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Items include The Titanic (biscuit and gravy on top of a four-egg omelet filled with ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, hash browns and cheddar cheese), the Boss Tom sandwich (sourdough bread loaded with turkey, bacon, tomato, cheese and ranch dressing), eggs Benedict, breakfast burritos, chicken and waffles, cinnamon roll pancakes, salads, steak finger baskets, and a brunch burger with over easy egg, hash browns and bacon.
The Big Biscuit first opened in Independence in 2000 and new owners took over in 2010. They now have 17 locations in three states — Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma — with another restaurant under construction in Topeka for a late October opening.
