Chicago-based, fast casual poke restaurant chain is looking for KC-area franchisees
Chicago-based Aloha Poke Co. is looking for Kansas City-area franchisees.
The fast casual brand says it offers bowls filled with sushi-grade fish and Hawaiian-inspired raw ingredients. Customers pick a base of white rice, brown rice or mixed greens. Toppings include ahi tuna, salmon, tofu, chicken, shrimp, Maui onion, jalapeno, edamame, pineapple, scallions, avocado, seaweed and ginger.
It also has a variety of sauces — from the Samurai (sweet and savory) to the Volcano (chili and ponzu mayo). Sides include seaweed salad and miso soup.
In a statement, Chris Birkinshaw, CEO of Aloha Poke, said the company’s bowls “are packed with fresh, mostly-raw ingredients, and are completely customizable to a wide array of diets and lifestyles, including gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and paleo options.”
The chain currently has 18 locations in Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Washington, D.C.
It is looking for people who have restaurant operations and management experience to open restaurants in the Kansas City metro with a goal of eight to 10 locations within the next three years.
A spokeswoman said the company is looking at sites throughout the metro but particularly interested in Brookside, the Country Club Plaza, the Crossroads, Leawood, Overland Park and the River Market.
