Motorcycle passenger killed in wreck off U.S. 69 in Excelsior Springs

A Lawson woman was killed late Saturday in a motorcycle crash in Excelsior Springs, officials said.

Highway Patrol responded to a wreck at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday near U.S. 69 and Missouri 92 highways in Clay County, according to a crash report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A Honda Civic was attempting to turn left off Missouri 92 onto U.S. 69 when it collided with a Harley-Davidson Softail Fat Boy motorcycle traveling southbound, according to the report.

Both the motorcycle’s driver and passenger were thrown over the handlebars upon impact.

The passenger, 33-year-old Emily Locke, was taken to a hospital, where she later died, according to highway patrol.

The motorcycle’s driver was hospitalized with minor injuries. The car’s driver was uninjured.
