Kansas City Weather: ‘Get outside’ Saturday before rainstorms move in Sunday

The sun will stay out for much of the day Saturday before a rainy Sunday in the Kansas City area.

Temperatures will stay in the 40s, reaching 47 degrees by 4 p.m. as clouds slowly move into the area said FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee in a weather update for The Star.

“If you can get outside you definitely want to do so,” he said.

Starting around 6 a.m. Sunday morning Countee said he expects there to be heavy showers in much of the Kansas City area with some thunderstorms.

The heavy part of the storm will clear out around noon, he said, but light rain will stick around through 6 p.m. clearing out entirely by 9 p.m.

Countee also expects that rain to drop temperatures back into the low 40s Sunday.

Temperatures may climb into the work week. The high temperature on Monday is expected to be 59 degrees and it could be as warm as the 60s and 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday, Countee said.

Chances of rain and thunderstorms will return to the area on Tuesday and Friday.
