Coming to Kansas City: James Taylor with Jackson Browne. Also: Gary Allan
The recent surge of COVID-19 cases has created a wave of cancellations and vaccine mandates at area music venues.
Florida Georgia Line canceled its tour, including an Oct. 30 concert at T-Mobile Center, and now David Allen Coe has scrapped his Aug. 27 appearance at Knuckleheads. Also, Mac Sabbath’s Sept. 4 date at Knuckleheads has been postponed until Oct. 7. Previously announced were cancellations of Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and the Prairie Village Jazz Festival.
Meanwhile, vaccine mandates are mounting. Liberty Hall in Lawrence now requires concert goers to be vaccinated, as do the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland and The Truman. Waxahatchee, which has a sold-out show Aug. 31 at Knuckleheads, informed the venue that it will require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test from within 48 hours of the show.
