‘Ted Lasso’ tour & ‘SNL’ afterparty: The most expensive bids at KC’s Big Slick 2025
Big Slick, the star-studded, annual Kansas City fundraiser that brought more than 40+ comedians, athletes and musicians to town to raise money for Children’s Mercy Hospital, raised a record $4.5 million this weekend.
And the auction part of Saturday evening was to thank for racking in hundreds of thousands of dollars for the children’s hospital.
Here were some of the items that brought in the most money Saturday night at T-Mobile Center.
What sold for the highest bids at Big Slick?
First to go were two tickets to “Saturday Night Live” from Heidi Gardner, complete with a tour of the set and an invitation to the infamous afterparty. “SNL” star Kenan Thomspon, also a guest at this year’s fundraiser, apparently likes to stay up until 6, 7, 8 and even 9 a.m., the hosts quipped.
Gardner threw in a set of another two tickets, which ended up going for $45,000 a pair — raising $90,000 in total for the hospital.
Next, Eric Stonestreet and David Dastmalchian raffled off two tickets to their upcoming “Dexter: Ressurection” premiere, including a red carpet experience and meet and greet with the two stars. The package sold for $35,000.
Then it was Paul Rudd’s turn on the mic. “Ant-Man” sold two tickets to the movie premiere of his upcoming film “Anaconda,” which also included a red carpet experience and the chance to watch the movie alongside the cast.
After it sold for $55,000, Rudd matched the final offer and then went into the crowd to hug the winning bidder for what he dubbed an “anaconda hug.”
A day in Los Angeles with former “SNL” star Will Forte was also auctioned off online with a final offer of $57,000. The “highly personalized” day is set to include breakfast, lunch and dinner at Forte’s favorite restaurants and guided visits to his ideal spots around the town.
Anyone could bid on this even if they weren’t in the arena, and the hosts said bidding closed at 8:45 p.m.
‘Ted Lasso’ takes the cake
The biggest sell of the night, though, was all thanks to “Ted Lasso.”
Jason Sudeikis auctioned off a massive package that included a set visit to Season 4 of the Apple TV show — fight and hotel accommodations to London, included — AFC Richmond gear, a “Believe” poster signed by the cast and a soccer ball signed by the AFC Richmond team and staff.
In fact, it looked like Chiefs star George Karlaftis was peer-pressuring his friend to keep bidding on the experience, which sold for a whopping $200,000.
A final bid from the Big Slick crowd
Near the end of the 2-hour, 30-minute variety show, the hosts broadcast a video from the Vincent family, whose child Peter received care from Children’s Mercy after he was diagnosed with leukemia.
The video, featuring testimony from Peter, his brother Carter and parents Ryan and Melissa Vincent, was filmed 12 days before Peter died.
Peter Vincent kickstarted a fundraiser of his own before his death, donating the $1,800 he saved to the hospital, and many in the audience followed suit. The hosts asked all the guests in the arena if they were interested in donating monetary amounts to Children’s Mercy, which saw many donate amounts from $1,800 to $100,000.
The celebrity guests joined in, with “Superman and Lois” actors Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch pledging to donate $10,000 each. Former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green’s name also popped up on the video board listing the names of those who contributed to the hospital.
Peter Vincent’s campaign had reached over $50,000 going into the show, and this moment saw the crowd donate over $900,000 to Children’s Mercy.
“I know that Peter is with us in spirit and with you as we try to leverage his fundraiser and your resources to be able raise some money so that other kids like Peter don’t have to hurt,” Ryan Vincent said in a video.
“Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for furthering Peter’s goals and thank you for the joy of seeing Peter’s dreams come true on this stage tonight.”
