Rally Mantis 2? Royals capture another mascot in Detroit
Do you believe in miracles? That is: An insect reincarnation?
Well, during the Royals’ game Monday night in Detroit, another praying mantis appeared at the team’s dugout. This comes just days after the Rally Mantis died in Minnesota. In the seventh inning of the Monday’s game, the new mantis was on top of the dugout.

Several Royals players coaxed the insect onto a bat and pulled it into the dugout, and seemed genuinely excited to capture it, although it did try and bolt by riding on Eric Hosmer’s jersey.
The appearance of the new mascot was caught during Fox Sports Kansas City’s broadcast:

Rustin Dodd, The Star’s Royals beat writer, added this after the Royals’ win:
The Royals have Rally Mantis 2 in a shoebox in the clubhouse. They're really taking this seriously.
