Chiefs running back Spencer Ware was a full practice participant Wednesday following concussion protocol.

Ware failed the second phase of concussion testing after leaving the Chiefs’ 30-14 win over Indianapolis on Oct. 30. He did not play in Sunday’s win over Jacksonville.

He has rushed 102 times for 511 yards and two touchdowns, including seven rushes for 19 yards against Indianapolis. He was replaced after his injury by backup Charcandrick West — the team leader in rushing last year with 634 yards — who rushed 14 times for 52 yards against the Colts.

Defensive tackle Jaye Howard (hip) and receiver Jeremy Maclin (groin strain) did not practice Wednesday. Neither did outside linebacker Tamba Hali (knee), who continues to get some days off during the week as the club attempts to keep him fresh.

New additions to the Chiefs injury report include quarterback Nick Foles (elbow) and receiver Chris Conley (quad), who were both limited.

Inside linebacker Derrick Johnson (hamstring) and cornerback D.J. White (hand) were also limited. Johnson played against the Jaguars, while White did not.

Quarterback Alex Smith, who missed the Jaguars game because of a head/ear injury, was a full participant in practice. He is expected to start Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

The Chiefs released cornerback Tyler Patmon and defensive lineman Bobby Richardson from the practice squad and added linebacker Earl Okine and cornerback Terrance Mitchell.

Panthers injury report

A number of key Panthers did not practice Wednesday: running back Jonathan Stewart (rest), tackle Michael Oher (concussion), center Ryan Kalil (shoulder), inside linebacker Shaq Thompson (knee), defensive tackle Vernon Butler (ankle) and defensive tackle Kyle Love (knee).
