Two Missouri football players popped up on preseason awards watch lists Monday as SEC Media Days got underway.

Sophomore running back Damarea Crockett made the watch list for the Maxwell Award, which is given to the best college football player in the country, while senior defensive end Marcell Frazier is listed on the watch list for the Bednarik Award, which goes to the defensive player of the year.

Crockett finished with a Tigers freshman record 1,062 yards and 10 touchdowns in 11 games last season.

He led all Football Bowl Subdivision freshmen, averaging 96.5 yards per game buoyed by a Mizzou freshman record 225-yard performance at Tennessee.

Frazier finished with 34 tackles, including 8  1/2 sacks and 9  1/2 tackles for a loss, last season along with a team-high two fumble recoveries.

He finished the season with a flurry, totaling 6  1/2 sacks and 7  1/2 tackles for a loss during the final three games.

Frazier helped Missouri erase a 24-7 halftime deficit in the season finale against Arkansas with a career-high three sacks and four tackles for a loss during a 28-24 victory.
