Mizzou women blast Truman State in final exhibition tune-up
Missouri’s women waxed Truman State in their final exhibition tune-up Monday at Mizzou Arena.
The Tigers topped the NCAA Division II Bulldogs 87-53 behind sophomore Sophie Cunningham’s game-high 22 points and nine rebounds.
Cunningham was 13 of 16 from the free-throw line for the Tigers, who led 22-7 after the first quarter and 46-21 at halftime.
Senior point guard Lianna Doty added eight points and game-highs of 13 rebounds and five assists.
Mizzou, which won the rebounding battle 49-24, also got 18 points from senior Sierra Michaelis, 11 points from freshman Jordan Chavis, 10 from freshman Amber Smith and nine from redshirt freshman Hannah Schuchts.
The Tigers open the regular season at 7 p.m. Friday against Abilene Christian in early-round action of the Preseason Women’s NIT at Mizzou Arena.
