Public hearing for Burns & McDonnell’s KCI proposal is Tuesday evening
The first of two public hearings will be held Tuesday, May 23, to provide more information and seek community feedback on Burns & McDonnell’s proposal to build and privately finance a new single terminal at Kansas City International Airport.
The City Council may vote June 15 on a preliminary agreement between the city and the company to pursue the private financing approach to modernizing the airport. If the council agrees to let the company move forward with its idea, that could lead to an airport improvement plan that would be put before Kansas City voters in November.
Before June 15, the council’s Airport Committee intends to have several public hearings, and the first two are scheduled. They are:
▪ Tuesday, May 23, 5:30 p.m., Kansas City Airport Marriott, Salon D-E, 775 Brasilia Avenue.
▪ Thursday, May 25, 9:15 a.m., 26th floor of City Hall, 414 E. 12th Street.
