Bernie Sanders supporters crash media tent at Democratic National Convention

More than 100 disenchanted supporters of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders staged a sit-in inside a tent set aside for news media Tuesday at the Democratic National Convention.

The protesters breached security inside the tent about 7 p.m. local time and began chanting slogans and waving signs. Some sat on the floor.

Philadelphia police quickly blocked the entrances, leaving other Sanders supporters outside. They pounded windows and chanted ‘the whole world is watching.’

Ninety minutes into the protest, leaders of the group began talking with secret service officials about ending the standoff.

There were no evident arrests or injuries. Reporters continued to file stories during the incident.
