South KC residents held up at gunpoint by burglars early Friday
A Kansas City grandfather and his teenage grandson were awakened Friday by a pair of armed robbers who broke into a south Kansas City home and stole money, clothes and electronics, police said.
Officers responded to the break-in at the residence in the 8700 block of 96th Street just after 3 a.m. The grandson told officers he was sleeping and awoke to a loud noise. He said two men armed with handguns were rummaging through the residence taking items and announced, “This is a robbery.”
The grandfather said he was awakened by one of the intruders, who pointed a gun at him.
The burglars fled in an unknown direction. Neither victim was injured during the holdup.
Police did not have detailed description of the burglars.
