A former teacher at Fort Osage High School pleaded guilty Wednesday to possession of child pornography.

Jason R. Pink, 44, of Independence, appeared Wednesday afternoon in U.S. District Court in Kansas City where he waived his right to a grand jury and entered a guilty plea to a single count of possessing child pornography.

Pink allegedly possessed the illegal material in May 2014, according to court documents.

The charge against Pink stemmed from a 2010 investigation by American and foreign authorities into an overseas movie production company, according to the terms of Pink’s plea agreement.

In May 2011, authorities served a search warrant on the company’s offices and seized hundreds of DVDs depicting child pornography.

U.S. Postal Service inspectors also reviewed the company’s customer database and found that Pink had made several purchases from the company, according to the plea agreement.

Officials searched Pink’s home in 2014 and found DVDs he had bought from the foreign company as well as a computer thumb drive containing pornographic images.

Sentencing for Pink is scheduled for Dec. 15.

According to his LinkedIn page, Pink had worked as a special education teacher for the district since 1998. He worked at Fort Osage High School at the time of the offense, according to federal prosecutors.
