Man mortally wounded during home invasion in Grandview
A 25-year-old Grandview man returning home early Monday was shot and mortally wounded during a home invasion.
Grandview police received a 911 call about 3 a.m. saying that three assailants had broken into a home in the 6000 block of 153rd Street and shot the victim.
The man was rushed to a hospital, where he died later Monday morning.
Grandview detectives started investigating the home invasion and later requested a Metro Squad be assembled. It began its investigation at 2 p.m.

The homicide is Grandview’s first homicide of the year and the 68th homicide in the Kansas City metro area in 2016.
