Police identify Kansas City, Kan., man shot to death

Kansas City, Kan., police have identified a 23-year-old man shot to death Friday outside a barbershop at 16th Street and Minnesota Avenue as Deandre A. Scott.

The shooting happened just before 1 p.m. Friday. Witnesses reported hearing as many as nine shots. Officers who were about a block away also heard the shots. As they arrived, some vehicles and pedestrians were leaving the area.

Scott, a Kansas City, Kan., resident, died in a driveway on the east side of the building containing the barbershop.

His death was the city’s fourth homicide of the year.
