Surveillance video shows man stealing package from Independence house, police say

Independence police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man on a bicycle shown on video going up to a home and taking a package.

Police shared a clip from the surveillance video on social media Wednesday, which was captured outside the home in the 2300 block of South Maywood Avenue on March 27.

Police said the package was delivered at 10:53 a.m. that day, and was allegedly stolen more than an hour later.

In the video, a man wearing sunglasses and a brown jacket is seen walking a bicycle up to the home, knocking on the front door and picking up a small package.

Police said it also appeared the man was bald, with possible scars or cuts on his head.
