Police were investigating the city's latest homicide after a man was found shot to death early Monday in Kansas City.

Police responded to reports of a shooting shortly before 4 a.m. Monday in the 4000 block of Garfield Avenue, which is just east of the Bruce R. Watkins Drive.

Arriving officers found the man who had been shot and was deceased. Later in the day, police identified him as Craig W. Tonkinson, 40.

Police said they have detained a person they believe has information about the man's death.
