One dies after Friday shooting in KC; police say charges expected soon
A victim who was shot Friday morning in the 2000 block of East 30th Street has died, Kansas City police said Saturday.
Officers were called to the area about 10:15 a.m. Friday and discovered the victim, who was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said. The officers saw a suspect driving away from the area and followed it. When the vehicle stopped near 26th Street and Indiana Avenue, police took the suspect into custody after a short chase on foot.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
Police said the case is now under investigation as a homicide and charges are expected soon.
