Man guilty in death of KCK woman who was sister of girl kidnapped, murdered in 1999

A Kansas City, Kan., man pleaded no contest Monday to the domestic violence killing of a woman whose sister was previously the victim an infamous murder case.

Enemencio Lansdown pleaded no contest and was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the April 2017 fatal shooting of Casey Eaton.

Lansdown, 42, will face a prison sentence of 20 years and seven months in prison as part of Monday’s plea agreement in Wyandotte County District Court.

Eaton was killed in the 900 block of Kansas Avenue in Kansas City, Kan., about a block from a memorial for her sister, Pamela Butler, a 10-year-old who was kidnapped and killed in 1999.

Lansdown and Eaton had dated for a short time before the killing.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 6.
