Police identify man fatally shot Sunday in south Kansas City
Kansas City police identified a Sunday homicide in south Kansas City as 44-year-old Keith Cole.
Officers responding to a shooting about 12:45 p.m. near Longview Road and Blue Ridge Boulevard found Cole shot on the sidewalk.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A witness told police a suspect wearing all black ran away from the scene.
The shooting was the second homicide of the day in Kansas City after Robert Exford was found shot to death twelve hours earlier near 33rd and Wabash Avenue.
It marked the city’s 95th homicide of the year. Last year, which was one of the city’s deadliest years in recent history, had 70 homicides for the same period.
