Kansas City traffic wreck leads to homicide investigation along Blue Parkway

Kansas City police said a person found dead inside a wrecked vehicle early Monday was a homicide victim.

Police identified the victim as 37-year-old Thomas Jones of Kansas City.

The wreck was reported just before 1 a.m. Monday in the 4300 block of Blue Parkway, according to police.

Arriving officers found the unconscious victim inside a wrecked vehicle, which had what appeared to be bullet damage, police said.

Emergency medical personnel declared Jones dead at the scene.
