Kansas City police investigating homicide of woman near Northeast High School

Police are investigating the homicide of a woman found dead in Kansas City’s Northeast area.

Kansas City police were called just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday to the area of Smart Avenue and Van Brunt Boulevard and found the woman dead inside a vehicle.

The scene is just outside Northeast High School.

A cause of death has not been released. The woman’s death is the city’s 30th homicide of 2017.
