Person is shot and killed in Kansas City Friday afternoon

Kansas City police say a victim shot Friday afternoon has died.

The shooting was reported about 1:30 p.m. Friday at an apartment complex in the 8100 block of Troost Avenue.

Police said later that the victim had died.

Shortly after the shooting was reported, officers reported that they had taken a suspect into custody.
