Kansas City police investigate shooting death at Blue Bird Motel

Kansas City police were investigating a shooting death Tuesday night at a motel in the 8900 block of U.S. 40.

Police responded to the Blue Bird Motel about 8:10 p.m. on reports of a shooting.

The victim was dead in the parking lot when police arrived, a dispatcher said.

A motel employee told police that she was robbed by a man wearing a black vest prior to the shooting.

Police did not have a detailed description of the shooter.
