Single-vehicle wreck claims the life of a Kansas City man
A 55-year-old Kansas City man was killed early Sunday in a crash on Interstate 49 at the 150.8 mile marker in Cass County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Randy M. Hodges was southbound when the 2016 Ford Fusion he was driving traveled off the right side of the interstate and struck a mile-marker sign and embankment. The vehicle went airborne and struck a pillar of a bridge support before catching fire.
Hodges, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle when it struck the pillar. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
