Nephew charged with murder in disappearance of Linn County mother, son
A 31-year-old Pittsburg man has been arrested and charged with murder in the disappearance of two relatives, an elderly mother and son, from their Kansas home.
David Mcnabb is accused in the deaths of Betty Mcnabb, 87, and her son, Kenneth Mcnabb, 65, who were reported missing from their Pleasonton, Kan., home on Friday.
David Mcnabb is a nephew of Kenneth Mcnabb. He is charged with second-degree murder, criminal desecration of a body and interference with a law enforcement officer.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest Monday afternoon.
Foul play had been suspected after a check of the Mcnabb home by the Linn County sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office requested help from the KBI on Saturday to investigate a crime scene. Agents and a crime scene reconstruction team have been in the area following leads.
The Overland Park Police Department, the Crawford County sheriff’s office, the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, and the Kansas Highway Patrol assisted in the investigation.
