KCK police release identity of 15-year-old drive-by shooting victim

The 15-year-old girl killed in a drive-by shooting in Kansas City, Kan., on Friday night has been identified as Brannae Brown, police said Monday.

The shooting occurred about 6:30 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of Freeman Drive. When officers arrived, they found the teenager, who is from Kansas City, Kan., dead from gunfire and another person injured.

Police said their preliminary investigation shows that unknown suspects drove by and fired at Brown. Police have not released information about the suspects or a possible motive, and the homicide — the third fatal drive-by shooting in the city in a week — remains under investigation.
