I moved to Johnson County from Missouri more than 20 years ago so our three children could benefit from the best public schools available. Our schools are under attack from the policies of Gov. Brownback and Sen. Denning, and these policies — especially the 2012 tax bill, the block grant bill and the voucher bills — harm schools and threaten economic development in Johnson County. I will be an independent thinker, and my main concern will be in acting for the best interests of Senate District 8.
