Toilet on highway causes a three-car wreck in Wyandotte County

A toilet sitting on a Wyandotte County highway triggered a three-car wreck Wednesday.

One woman was injured, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The wreck occurred about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. 73 between Leavenworth and Donahoo roads.

The patrol said the three vehicles were southbound on the highway when one driver stopped because of the toilet in the road.

A following vehicle rear-ended another vehicle, which then rear-ended the car that had stopped, according to the patrol.

A 34-year-old Tonganoxie woman who was driving the car in the middle of the wreck was the only person injured. She was taken to a hospital. The extent of her injuries was not available.

The toilet had fallen from another vehicle. The driver of that vehicle returned to the scene and spoke with troopers, according to the patrol.
