Some Kansas City buses now offer later service Friday and Saturday nights to key employment and entertainment corridors.

The Troost MAX rapid bus and 47-Broadway bus will join the Main Street MAX bus, all running until 2 a.m.

The Main Street MAX began the late-night service in May, and ridership at those hours has been light, said Kansas City Area Transportation Authority spokeswoman Cindy Baker.

But she said the KCATA is committed to providing that service, especially to complement the downtown Kansas City streetcar service, which also runs until 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Troost MAX will start its last trip from downtown at 1:42 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The last trip to downtown will begin at 75th Street and Troost Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Saturday and just before 1 a.m. Sunday.

The last Broadway bus leaves downtown at 1:38 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The late-night Broadway route will be shorter, traveling between 47th Street and Union Station, not east of the Country Club Plaza or north of Pershing.
