Fire leads to brief evacuation at Summit Technology Campus

A Summit Technology Campus building was briefly evacuated Tuesday morning when a fire involving an air conditioning chilling unit started on the roof.

The Lee’s Summit Fire Department responded at 5:14 a.m. and extinguished the fire by 5:34 a.m.

Smoke and fire did not enter the 480,000-square-foot mixed-use facility, and the damage was limited to the air conditioning unit, the department said.
