Child drowns in Embassy Suites hotel near the Plaza
A boy about 10 years old died Saturday night when he drowned in a swimming pool inside the Embassy Suites hotel near the Country Club Plaza.
Police were called to the hotel at 43rd Street and Broadway Boulevard at about 11 p.m. When they arrived, the child was out of the water and two people were attempting CPR.
Kansas City Fire Department paramedics arrived and took over lifesaving efforts, but the child was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
