Man found dead in midtown Kansas City house fire
Firefighters found a man’s body while battling a fire in a two-story house in midtown Kansas City Sunday morning.
The man was in his 30s and was found in an upstairs apartment in the house, according to Battalion Chief Nino Bruno of the Kansas City Fire Department.
The fire was reported about 8:35 a.m. in the 1200 block of West 41st Street. Arriving crews reported seeing smoke and fire coming from the house. Firefighters searched the house while battling the fire, having received reports of a person trapped inside.
Firefighters reported that the fire was brought under control about 9 a.m.
The fire is under investigation.
