Fire destroys furniture store off Truman and Montgall early Saturday
A fire destroyed a furniture store early Saturday morning off Truman Road and Montgall Avenue.
Furniture USA Appliances was located at 2626 E. Truman Road. There were no injuries, according to a Kansas City Fire Department dispatcher.
Two trucks were also destroyed in the blaze, said Battalion Chief Calvin Clay of Kansas City fire.
The ceiling of the store collapsed. Partial walls remained standing Saturday morning. A collapse zone was established while firefighters fought the blaze.
The fire was reported just before 5 a.m.
