Fire engulfs Kansas City, Kan., house reported to have ammunition in garage
A fire engulfed a Kansas City, Kan., house Sunday morning that reportedly had a large amount of ammunition inside the garage, according to a fire official.
The fire was reported shortly before 7 a.m. in the 3200 block of North 46th Street. Arriving firefighters reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the house, Kansas City, Kan., Fire Chief John Paul Jones said on Twitter.
About 7:20 a.m., the incident commander reported that firefighters were attacking the fire from the outside after the roof to the garage and part of the living area collapsed, according to radio traffic.
Firefighters extinguished the fire about 7:45 a.m., Jones said on Twitter. There were no initial reports of injuries.
