Five people were displaced after a fire Saturday at an apartment complex in Overland Park.

The fire was reported about 5:30 p.m. at The Clines Apartments in the at 8300 block of Wedd Street.

Despite calls that people were trapped in the building, no injuries were reported.

The fire began on the ground floor of a two-story apartment building, Johnson County fire officials said. Firefighters rescued a woman and her dog from a second-story balcony.

Crews had the fire under control about 6:30 p.m., an emergency dispatcher said. One apartment had heavy smoke damage.
