Garage fire damages Lee’s Summit house

No one was injured when a fire extensively damaged the garage of a Lee’s Summit house Wednesday.

The fire was reported shortly before 7 p.m. in the 4300 block of SW Raintree Court.

Firefighters arriving on the scene reported smoke and fire coming from the garage of a single-story house. Everyone had made it outside safely, according to the Lee’s Summit Fire Department.

Firefighters knocked down the fire, which had spread to a portion of the attic above the garage. A car and motor scooter inside the garage were damaged in the blaze. The rest of the house had varying amounts of heat and smoke damage.

Firefighters were investigating the cause of the fire.
