Two new locally owned shops opening in Brookside

Brookside will soon be home to another locally owned women’s clothing boutique, as well as a locally owned tea and sweet shop.

▪ Lady Bye will sell apparel, accessories, home accessories and bath and body products. It is taking the former Shopgirls space at 6245 Brookside Plaza and plans to open Thursday. Lady Bye’s wares will be inspired by the “iconic images of fashionable famous women including Princess Diana and Jackie Kennedy.”

“They have that classic goodbye wave that is so feminine and so strong and we want to embody that here,” said owner Abby Roen Flores.

She also owns Coco boutique at 407 W. Gregory Blvd. in Waldo. It had relocated from East Brookside after a fire in April 2017 and plans to return to same spot after repairs are finished on that building. Shopgirls also relocated to East Brookside.

▪ Sweet and Simple will be a specialty drink and dessert shop. It is taking a space at 326 W. 63rd St. for a March opening. Menu items will include boba teas, flavored hot teas, Vietnamese coffee, fruit flavored smoothies, and edible cookie dough. Diana Dang, owner of Brookside’s BKS Nails, is opening Sweet and Simple with her brother, Johnny Dang, and sister, Alynna Dang.
