The partnership behind The Bar West in Shawnee and The Bar in Mission is expanding again.

It plans to open The Bar at West Plaza at 1121 W. 47th St. in early September. Journeyman formerly occupied the space.

Barry Wiser, operating manager, said the new location will feature a similar menu of nachos, chicken Caesar wraps, chicken tenders and chicken Parmesan sandwiches, specialty burgers and entrees such as baby back ribs and grilled pork loin.

Brothers Kit and Ryan Boje spent months working on the Journeyman space — once a yarn store — before opening in April 2016.

One side was a daytime cafe serving coffee and lunch, while the corner space on the west side was an upscale restaurant and bar serving pork belly lardons on arugula with stone-ground grits, beef shoulder tender, house-pickled vegetables and honey bread baked in-house.

Wiser said Journeyman closed earlier this month, but Kit Boje will return as general manager.
