A Royals jersey worn by Alex Gordon? It’s for sale at this new Oak Park Mall shop
Private ticket broker Tickets for Less sells most of its tickets online in digital form.
But now it is upping its in-person experience — and giving the business more exposure — with a new Oak Park Mall store.
The store, on the lower level of the mall at 95th Street and Quivira Road in Overland Park, sells tickets to sporting, concert and theater events, as well as T-shirts designed by Kansas City-based Charlie Hustle Clothing Co. and socks by Lee’s Summit’s Sock101.
But perhaps the biggest in-store draws are the displays of Royals merchandise.
There’s a Jarrod Dyson helmet for $300, an Alex Gordon game-used jersey with a pine tar stain on the back shoulder for $800, used Royals bats starting at $100, and ceramic coasters with field dirt encased in a circle of clear plastic — four for $40. Punch in the MLB Authentication codes and find out details on the merchandise, such as which player used the bat and during what game.
For $3,000, there’s also Salvador Perez’s gently used catcher’s gear.
Jewelry by Tokens & Icons, in cooperation with Major League Baseball and the MLB Authentication program, is made from game balls. After they are removed from play, they are logged by an official authenticator and later cut into pieces to make earrings and necklaces. So fans of Yordano Ventura can buy a piece of jewelry made from a ball he used to strike out an opposing player.
Tickets for Less, which was founded in 2004, also has an outlet in Central Bank of the Midwest, at 7960 W. 135th St., Suite 100, Overland Park.

Hal Wagner started Ace Collectibles in 1988 in Metcalf South before later moving to Oak Park Mall. He most recently operated under Ace Sports & Nationwide Tickets before selling the ticket operation to Tickets for Less in late October.
Now as Nationwide Collectibles, he has relocated to a temporary space on the lower level of the Nordstrom wing and is selling his remaining inventory — more than 1,000 pieces of collectibles and autographed merchandise, and more than 5,000 hats and sports apparel. Wagner plans to close Nationwide on Dec. 29.
He had previously sold hot tubs in California and plans to relocate and semi-retire in Florida.
Spin opens in Lawrence
A franchisee for locally owned specialty pizza chain Spin Neapolitan Pizza has opened a location at 525 Wakarusa in Lawrence.
Spin’s recipes were developed in collaboration with James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Smith. Its pizza dough is made fresh daily using several types of flour. It also offers a rotating roster of bottled and barrel wines, house sangria, craft beers, signature salads, sandwiches, gelato, craft beers and more.
The franchisee also is looking for a Topeka location.
