Westport’s new made-to-order doughnut shop opens Wednesday

Westport’s new locally owned Donutology will serve up made-to-order doughnuts with a selection of icings, toppings and drizzles.

It plans to open at 6 a.m. Wednesday at 1009 Westport Road.

Donutology will have white cake minidoughnuts daily, as well as a seasonal doughnut. It also will have chocolate and blueberry cake doughnuts Friday through Sunday only.

Customers also will be able to select from a variety of icings, including powdered sugar, vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter and maple. Toppings will include rainbow sprinkles, Butterfinger crumbles, bacon bits, Froot Loops, white coconut or toasted coconut, and toasted marshmallow. They also can add drizzles — Bavarian cream, caramel, raspberry, strawberry, chocolate or marshmallow.

Customers will be able to watch the doughnuts being made in the open kitchen.

Owner Andrew Cameron opened his first Daylight Donuts shop in Leavenworth in 2011, then added locations in Lansing, Lenexa, Gardner, Olathe and Overland Park.

Donutology, in the former Tower Dry Cleaners and Laundry space, also will serve Daylight Donuts, including raised and cake, twists, apple fritters, bear claws, Bismarcks, fried cinnamon rolls or baked cinnamon rolls, and sausage rolls.

It also will serve Roasterie coffee and Shatto Milk Co. milk.

Hours: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
